This video recounts the bottom of the ninth inning in game six of the 1986 World Series. Yes, that’s the famous Buckner ground ball. The catch is that while the audio is Vin Scully’s exact call of the inning, the video was created with good old RBI Baseball.
The author makes two good points about the game. One, Vin Scully called the game beautifully. Some people can’t take him in large doses, but for these eight minutes, I was captivated. Second, the Red Sox f’d up this Series long before Buckner made himself famous. Boston had a two run lead going into the bottom of the ninth. The video’s a quick eight minutes long and is a good combination of strange Nintendo entertainment and quality baseball nostalgia.
