Here are the links to the six divional previews. Believe me, they’re hot stuff.

AL East
AL Central
AL West
NL East
NL Central
NL West

To finish up the series of articles that I can look back at come October and remind myself how foolish it is to predict anything, here are my playoff and awards predictions:

AL Playoffs:

A’s defeat Blue Jays
Red Sox defeat Indians
A’s defeat Red Sox

If the Rocket happens to sign with Boston then I give the edge to the Sox. But the A’s are just too much otherwise.

NL Playoffs

Mets defeat Cardinals
Phillies defeat Dodgers
Phillies defeat Mets

Your 2006 World Series Champions:

The Philadelphia Phillies (hey, I can’t completely jinx the A’s, can I?)

AL Awards

Best Player: Alex Rodriguez
Best Pitcher: Johan Santana (by far)
MVP: Troy Glaus
Rookie: Justin Verlander
Biggest Hitting Disappointment: Gary Sheffield
Biggest Hitting Surprise: Jason Michaels
Biggest Pitching Disappointment: John Garland
Biggest Pitching Surprise: Shawn Chacon

NL Awards

Best Player: Albert Pujols
Best Pitcher: Brad Penny
MVP: Ryan Howard or David Wright (is that cheating?)
Rookie: Jeremy Hermida — but there’s a fantastic group of rookies in the NL this year.
Biggest Hitting Disappointment: Andruw Jones
Biggest Hitting Surprise: Mike Piazza
Biggest Pitching Disappointment: John Patterson
Biggest Pitching Surprise: Ryan Madson

Hat Tip

…to The Inside Pitch. This website’s got the best, most up-to-date depth charts I’ve found anywhere, including 25- and 40-man rosters, lineups, platoons, rotations, injuries, and a closer-watch.
