Yesterday, I received a last-minute invitation to appear on a Radio Open Source talk show with Christopher Lydon. It’s broadcast over the web, on about 30 public radio stations, and XM radio station 133. The first hour was a mish-mash of sabermetrics, the CDM fantasy statistics lawsuit, and the impact of fantasy sports in general. I’m still not quite sure what role I was supposed to play, but I managed to pull off “obsessed stats geek who can’t come up with specific examples and draws blanks” quite well. Gary Gillette was definitely the star of the hour. At least it was something different, and I did actually have a good time.
If you’d like to have a good laugh at my expense (or listen to an hour of somewhat intelligent baseball talk), you can download the mp3 of the show from this page. I appeared during the third 20-minute segment with Ben Kabak of Double Play Depth, a blog over at All-Baseball.com.
Back to regularly scheduled blogging shortly, including an article containing what I should have mentioned last night.
Hat Tips…
…to Doug and Frank who came up with some great points I should make. If only I’d made them.
