Via Baseball Musings, I found this article at Baseball Crank arguing in favor of the Mets starting John Maine over Steve Trachsel as their fourth starter in the playoffs. I personally would have just mentioned how John Maine is a much better pitcher, period, and thrown out some numbers to support that claim, but I like how the author breaks things down game by game in order to show that the distribution of Maine’s starts is more impressive than Trachsel’s.
