Have you noticed Aaron Rowand’s stellar season? I hadn’t until today. He’s batting .311/.379/.522 in 646 plate appearances. His 50.7 VORP ranks 20th in the majors, a few runs behind Victor Martinez and Barry Bonds. He also has the reputation as an abov-average centerfielder, increasing his value. Utley, Rollins, and Howard are getting all the Philadelphia hype, but Rowand’s definitely more valuable than Howard, nipping on Rollins’ heals.
