I have a new post over at Baseball-Reference.com’s Stat of the Day blog taking a look at how unique Brandon Webb’s 9 K, 3 BB, 89 pitch outing was last night. That’s not a lot of pitches for some many K’s and BB’s.

After running a couple lists, Scott Kazmir had 3 similar games over the past few seasons. He’s just a weird pitcher, huh? Is there anything in his skill set that makes him prone to striking out a lot of guys, walking a few guys, and still keeping his pitch total down?
