I know it's sacrilege, but I'll join Frank on the Andruw Jones talent bandwagon. But I think he'll probably cost more than the other CF options, negating any value.

I'm surprised there's not more Andruw Jones love?
Do people think hes washed up after this terrible year?
I don't think he'll end up with a super low deal, like some are predicting, but it should be a solid value signing.

I'm OUT on Bonds, Schill, Posado and Mo.

Bonds and Andruw for me. Bonds can still hit, and would make a great 130 game DH for an American League team. Best of all, his price tag will be depressed because of his baggage. Andruw is not the superstar everyone thought he was after the 50 HR season, but he's still relatively young, can still play good defense, and hit 35 HRs. That's valuable, and he'll be undervalued coming off of a poor season.

I wouldn't touch Rowand; he screams "injury-prone player coming off career year in favorable park."

Tommy, we may have to put some sort of non-monetary bet on Bonds' performance in 2008. I'm going to post something eventually about him being an awesome signing.

I notice you didn't mention Boston in your list of major cities...

Rowand and Hunter for me. I wouldn't touch the aging Bonds as I think he's about to drop off a cliff with both the defense and health. If he can find a DH gig then he's worth looking at, but I'm not expecting a lot next year from him.

I read somewhere that Hunter expressed interested in playing for the Nationals due to the large African-American population there. Does that seem weird? I mean, yes, DC has a large African-American population, but is it really that different from a lot of other MLB cities, say, Philly, Atlanta, Baltimore, NYC, LA, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit... Anyways, seemed like a weird thing to say, but maybe he's really tired of seeing the descendants of vikings in Minneapolis for the past however long he's been there.
